Choose a winery
Under a thousand-year-old olive tree there's a long table set, and behind it the vineyard. That's how simple this is: no tasting room, no counter. You eat and drink where it's grown, on the same estate this family has worked since 1810, through more than four generations — the current owner inherited it in 2017 from her mother, Teresa Pereira Caldas de Vasconcellos, an artist and teacher. The wine, in its current form, has grown fast: from two thousand to twenty thousand bottles a year in four years. Fifteen minutes from Penina, forty from the Doná Filipa.

three wines
You eat where it's grown. A walk through the vines, then three courses served at the estate's long table, each with the house wine that goes with it. No menu, no room, no rush: whatever there is that day, in front of the vines it came from.
four wines
You enter the vineyard mid-afternoon, once the sun has dropped, and leave with four of the estate's wines tasted at the field table, with cheeses and cold cuts. Ends at half past five: the one that fits a day of golf without taking a single hole.
at sunset
Six oysters per person and the house sparkling wine, outdoors, as the sun sets behind the vineyard. No protocol. It teaches nothing and doesn't try to: it's the ending we would give a week of golf.
max 10 people
Starts at ten at Silves' municipal market, choosing the day's produce with the chef. Continues in the estate kitchen, by their side. At midday, lunch on what was made, with the house wines. For non-golfers, the best day of the week.
high season only
The same table, now at night. Three courses, three wines and the vines all around. High season only, so it isn't included in our winter stays; if your dates fall within it, it's worth asking.
Attended in English; the winery asks for advance booking. The estate is not fully adapted for reduced mobility and experiences take place through vineyard and olive grove — if anyone in the group needs it, tell us when booking. The transfer from the hotel is quoted separately and always recommended. The tasting wines are bought on site, with the winery arranging shipping.
