Choose a winery
No entry-level range here. Tradición bottles only VOS and VORS sherries with an average age of at least thirty years, one for each style of the Marco, aged and bottled by hand without a single mechanical intervention. At the end of the tour, a pinacoteca: Spanish painting from the 14th to the 19th century, from a Levi altarpiece to Sorolla, by way of Zurbarán, Velázquez, El Greco and Goya. And they keep something no one else does: the oldest surviving archive on Jerez wine, with documentation since 1650, plus a photographic archive of over ten thousand images. Visits run in groups of ten or twelve at most, never mixed with other visitors.
Winery, pinacoteca and a tasting of 30-year-plus VOS and VORS, with a light aperitif. This is the one carried inside our Jerez and Cádiz stays.
The same visit, upgrading the aperitif to hot and cold tapas, served informally at high tables. They don't organise sit-down meals: this is the closest thing there is.
With no one else, in the Museum or one of the patios. Craft, art and history; the brandy and the 1650 archive, which aren't part of the normal visit; the photographic archive; and free tasting of their oldest wines and brandies with tapas.
Soleras and criaderas, and up to twelve wines and brandies, from the butt or bottled, with an expert guide. For those travelling for the wine, not the golf.
For those travelling without playing, this is the trip. A morning among Zurbarán, Velázquez and Goya, a thirty-year amontillado in hand, a 1650 archive alongside. Nothing more needs explaining to the companion who doesn't pick up a club.
The Tradición visit is included in the price of the stays listed below, with the time set in advance at no extra cost. Prefer another bodega included in your stay? It can be swapped by paying the difference. The private or technical visit can be added to any week.
