Barceló Montecastillo 5★ or Barceló Costa Ballena 4★ · Jerez and Rota
The westerly wind comes in through El Puerto de Santa María and you feel it on the scorecard. That's the difference with this week: Villanueva Golf comes into play, a more open course with a layout that resembles neither Nicklaus's parkland nor Olazábal's lakes. Anyone who already knows the area usually asks for this one. Beyond that, the formula is the same as the Circuito de Cádiz: seven nights, five rounds, three courses and a single bed. No hotel change mid-week and none of the three courses is far — Montecastillo and Sherry Golf are both in Jerez, Villanueva is in El Puerto, Costa Ballena in Rota. What changes, again, is where you sleep: three of the five rounds are played at the course of the hotel, so choosing a base means choosing which course you get to know properly and which one you visit just once. Three different landscapes in one week, which is exactly what this fiche sells.

A five-star in a nineteenth-century castle, with bed and breakfast and the Nicklaus course beneath the window. Montecastillo and Sherry are both in Jerez, so you only really drive one day, the Villanueva one. And Tradición is ten minutes downhill. Winter window: 22 November to 25 February.
from €1,085
A four-star eight hundred metres from the beach, with dinner included all seven nights and the nine-hole PAR 3 as a second round on playing afternoons. Here Sherry is swapped for three rounds on Olazábal's twenty-seven holes, Villanueva is twenty minutes away and Sanlúcar a quarter-hour. Winter window: 1–14 November and 5–28 February.
Per person in a double room · each base has its own regime and its own winter window, indicated with it · two wineries included, in Jerez and in Sanlúcar.
The two no-golf days don't stay empty, and wine comes into the price twice. Bodegas Tradición, in Jerez, fills one: they bottle nothing under thirty years old, and among the casks keep a picture gallery of Spanish painting from the 14th to 19th century and the oldest surviving archive of Jerez wine, from 1650. Hidalgo La Gitana, in Sanlúcar, fills none: it opens at seven in the evening, once you've already played, and you taste the manzanilla among candles, drawn from the cask with a venencia.
Any of these stays is the skeleton, not the whole trip. On top of it we build whatever you want to experience, booked and quoted firm: a table at the area's best restaurants, spa and wellness, city visits, and bespoke experiences at our wineries, from a sunset tasting to a paired dinner inside the winery itself. Tell us who's travelling and what they feel like. Designing your bespoke trip costs nothing: the initial proposal and one revision. From the third version onward, finalising the itinerary costs €100, fully deducted from your trip's price if you book it with us.
From €945 per person
Depending on the base chosen: from €945 (Montecastillo Base) or from €1,085 (Costa Ballena Base). Per person in a double room; each base has its own regime, winter window and cancellation terms.
Maximum handicap 28 for men and 36 for women, with certificate, at the Montecastillo base. The order of the courses is set by tee-time availability and confirmed before travel. At Montecastillo the club requires a buggy on tee times before 11am, except from 22 November to 25 February. Each base has its own regime, its own winter window and its own cancellation terms, because they are two separate contracts. Bodegas Tradición receives groups of up to ten or twelve people, never mixed with other visitors; from twelve players onward the group is split into two consecutive sessions. La Gitana's night visit is held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 19:00, in English on Wednesdays; the day is fixed when tee times are confirmed. Both wineries close bookings in advance and are reserved together with the stay.
A 30% deposit is due on confirmation, non-refundable, with the rest due 45 days before arrival. Cancellation fees: 30% up to 45 days out, 50% from 45 to 31 days, and 100% from 30 days out, for no-shows or early departures. Cancelling within 14 days of booking, with more than 60 days still to go before arrival, refunds everything paid, deposit included. We recommend taking out cancellation insurance.
