Sotogrande isn't a golf destination: it's the golf destination of southern Europe. Within a few kilometres sits the continent's greatest concentration of prestige courses, Valderrama among them, host of the 1997 Ryder Cup, the first ever played outside the British Isles. The SO/ Sotogrande occupies a restored Andalusian mansion in the heart of the valley, and its rate already includes the spa, the water circuit, the indoor pool, the gym with classes and two heated outdoor pools. Around it, a low-rise development among cork oaks, the marina and the polo grounds. Here golf isn't bundled into the package. In a destination where every course is a decision — and where playing Valderrama isn't the same as playing La Reserva — choosing for the client would be presumptuous. You tell us which courses you want to play and we handle the rest.

On top of the stay we build the rest, booked and quoted firm: green fees at the courses you choose; the marina and La Marina shopping area; polo in season; Gibraltar and Tarifa half an hour away; Jerez and its wineries an hour and a quarter away; and the hotel's own spa, already included. Tell us who's travelling and what they feel like. Designing your bespoke trip costs nothing: the initial proposal and one revision. From the third version onward, finalising the itinerary costs €100, fully deducted from your trip's price if you book it with us.

Depending on the stay chosen: from €420 (El Valle, 3 nights), from €665 (San Roque, 5 nights), or from €910 (The À La Carte Week, 7 nights). Per person in a double room, low season; green fees quoted separately per course chosen.
Handicap certificate required: each Sotogrande club sets its own and some are demanding. Green fees are not included in the stay price and are quoted separately, firm, before confirming. Tee-time availability at the most in-demand courses closes well in advance.
A 30% deposit is due on confirmation, non-refundable, with the rest due 45 days before arrival. Cancellation fees: 30% up to 45 days out, 50% from 45 to 31 days, and 100% from 30 days out, for no-shows or early departures. Cancelling within 14 days of booking, with more than 60 days still to go before arrival, refunds everything paid, deposit included. We recommend taking out cancellation insurance.
